Connecticut ABA Therapists and
Consultants
CT FEAT is no longer accepting postings to this employment bulletin
board which is being phased out effective 2011. After offering this free
service for many years, we now believe that there exist other adequate
resources on the internet to enable prospective employers and employees
in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to find each other
without our support.
However, we will consider forwarding to our “parents only” listserv
postings from ABA professionals (consultants, therapists, respite
workers) who would like to make families aware of their services.
Membership in CT FEAT’s private “parents only” list is statewide and
consists of many hundreds of families. If you would like to submit such
a proposed listing, please send it to:
ctfeat2@ctfeat.org with the
subject heading “employment listing.” CT FEAT reserves the right to edit
or reject any proposed listing.
Note: All employment related postings to the CT FEAT listserv will
contain the following disclaimer:
DISCLAIMER:
CT
FEAT does not recommend or endorse any of the professional service
providers forwarded to our listserv. Neither can we verify the accuracy
of the information they provide. Due to the tremendous demand for ABA
services, many individuals make unwarranted claims of expertise in this
field. Parents need to educate themselves regarding the minimal
qualifications that an ABA provider should have. For more information on
these qualifications,
guidelines published by the Association for Behavior Analysis
International. For a state by state listing of those
who have met these minimal qualifications, check the "certificant
registry" maintained by the
Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
Although a formal credential in behavior analysis is evidence that a
professional has met minimum competency standards, it does not guarantee
that the individual has specific expertise in autism, nor that s/he can
produce optimal treatment outcomes. Even those who do have autism
training may be lacking the clinical depth and experience to provide
appropriate treatment to a given age group, level of impairment, etc.
Also keep in mind that the credentialing of professional behavior
analysts has only been in place on an international level since 2000. So
there may be some competent service providers who are still in the
process of applying for BACB certification. |
